Is there a method to set up auto-discovery of sensors for a category of sensor type?

My specific scenario: I would like to set up regularly scheduled auto discovery for my ESX servers to add any new Virtual Machines (SOAP sensor) that have been created on the device WITHOUT having it add all the data stores, HTTP, etc..etc...

I realize there is the "Exclude Sensors" on the new template creation, but it only allows me to exclude HTTP and PING.

Unfortunately, this isn't possible since we don't categorize the sensors within a template. You could only create device with the sensors you need (nothing else) and then create a template from it.
