When installing a remote probe on a c3.4xlarge or c4.4xlarge AWS servers, the server immediately crashes. After some digging it is npf.sys that causes the crash. This driver is only installed by the remote probe installation. Is there a work around for this?

Hello Mark,
npf.sys is a component from WinPCap. It's a component needed by the Packet Sniffer sensors that comes by default with every PRTG or Remote Probe installation. I talked to the developers about this, but I'm afraid there's no hidden switch for disabling installation of this component. However it's a little odd that your servers crash so badly just because of this driver, though the issue seems to have occurred to others too (WinPCap comes also with Wireshark for example):
Does the installation somehow come to an end? Are you able to start PRTG Administration Tool on the Remote Probe to configure it?
Kind regards.
