I have downloaded the Avaya IPO MIB files and I'm sorting through them with the Paessler MIB import tool. It's a little difficult to make heads or tails out of the sensors they have. There are a ton of MIB files and finding useful sensors is like finding a needle in a haystack. Is anyone else monitoring an IPO 500V2 system (R9.0) in PRTG? What sensors did you find useful? I am looking for things like PRI status, PRI lines in use, alarms, etc.

Hi,
as we are not using Avaya equipment ourselves, I'm afraid I have to leave the question open here.
Best regards

I'm using an IP office 500 v2 version 9 also. Haven't been able to make heads or tails either!

I use LanSweeper and it picks up basic info (serial number, interface ip, model, uptime) via SNMP but I can't get the SNMP tester or PRTG to pull any information.

Watching the SysMon it shows a bad packet request each time SNMP tester or PRTG tries to poll.

Did you have to use the AVAYA mibs ?

What happens if you walk that device, using the SNMP Tester, over 1.3.6?

Settings: SNMPV2c Port 161 Timeout: 2

No advanced settings selected. ReadAs: String

Request Type: Walk: 1.3.6

I receive the same error in SNMP Tester : Error -2003 In my Avaya IP Office PBX the sys log shows: SNMPRxMsg: Error Parsing SNMP Packet

In ths case it looks like that device does not provide valid SNMP packets, or the device address or configuration is wrong.

So how does my LanSweeper work correctly with all 5 units? The error message from the PBX indicates it is receiving a bad packet from SNMP Tester, not that the PBX is sending a bad packet.

Lansweeper pulls Uptime, Serial#, Contact, Location, Unit Name, IP address, mac address, Manufacturer, Model, and Interfaces with out any issues... LanSweeper Polls 4 times a day and receives a perfectly fine response.

If LanSweeper can use SNMP to pull information, I can't see any reason why PRTG or SNMP Tester cannot.
