I want to configure our iDrac version 8 so that PRTG kan check snmp but I cannot get it to work. SNMP is correct installed.

Is idrac8 not supported?

Hello Poort80 Hosting Services,
we appreciate your contact.

Yes, the iDRAC 8 is supported, but regarding it's set-up/configuration we must ask that you check directly with Dell.

I was able to locate a screenshot on this thread at en.community.dell.com and the SNMP settings for the iDRAC appear to be within the web-interface under iDRAC Settings > Network, I hope it provides some assistance.

You can quickly verify and troubleshoot your SNMP configuration by using our SNMP Tester and running the "Uptime" or "Scan Interfaces" tests.

Best Regards,

I bumped into the same problem. SNMP service is enabled for all three protocol versions, port is standard (161), it is "public", but PRTG does not want to see any data on it. Please help! I used SNMP Tester it did work for Network Traffic and Uptime on that iDRAC 8...

Hello atishin,
thank you for your post.

Please share the text output from the Read Device Uptime test on your device.

Additionally, please double check that the device's address within PRTG matches the iLO's IP/FQDN. if that matches, deploy the SNMP System Uptime sensor within PRTG, what's the result?

If the SNMP System Uptime sensor works in the SNMP Tester it MUST work in PRTG as well, they use the same SNMP engines, if for some reason the sensors in PRTG don't work, head to the device's settings and explicitly configure the correct SNMP version and credentials there.

Best Regards,
