Yeah so I am very new at this and need help PLEASE.
All I want this software to do is show me how much data does each of my devices use at home. There are 3 iPads, 3 IPhones and 4 pc's. I am running out of data very quickly and I am not sure who is using the most. I need a graph per device that can show me daily data usage. In and out.
Please can you guide me on how to set it up?
This is a nice tool with a lot of features but I just need something simple. (I hope it is simple). I tried to configure it but I must be a blond.

Unfortunately, as easy as it sounds, the configuration might be complex in a home network.
Most devices support SNMP to query information like bandwidth usage. In order to monitor the bandwidth of your device's interfaces you need to configure SNMP on the target devices. PRTG supports SNMP in the versions v1, v2c and v3. You can configure a read-only community with a string of your choice. Some devices require to fill-in the PRTG Server's IP address as an agent to allow the PRTG Server to get information.
Afterwards, you can add an SNMP Traffic Sensor SNMP Traffic Sensor to the device and choose which interface you want to add to the monitoring.
The tricky part here is to monitor the wireless devices, as this will not work via SNMP for most devices. You will need some device which will duplicate the traffic and forward it to the machine running PRTG. This can be achieved with
Some routers also support the alternative OS DD-WRT. This will allow you to monitor the Traffic via SNMP for each antenna.

DD-WRT also supports the rFlow protocol (Netflow V5 basically). If you give each device a static IP then this can easily do what you would like.
