I changed the password on the wmi user and now all disk sensors fail. Connection could not be established (80070005: Access is denied - Host: 172.16.9.16, User: mpgit, Password: **, Domain: ntlmdomain:mpg) (code: PE015)

I made the change of credentials at the root (the top place where this was at) but most of my sensors are still down. I have restarted the PRTG services multiple times and even rebooted the PRTG server but I still can't get my sensors to work properly. I even set my password back to what is was rebooted everything but it still isn't working.

Could you please try setting credentials at device level? What credential type are you using here?
Best regards

Hi,
the credentials for the windows user in PRTG can be changed on tab Settings of the sensor's parent device. There search for the section Inherit Windows Credentials.
Please note that credentials are inherited through the whole device tree downwards so the credentials also might be set on a higher level (e.g. group or probe) and then have to be changed there.
Best regards
