Good Day,

We have recently implemented a Cisco VoIP platform which we have tried to add to PRTG for monitoring, without much success. We have this been able to add Drive space, CPU Memory and Ping to monitoring however this is not the total stack. In order to accurately report on up-time, we need to monitor each of the services. The hardware: Cisco 2901 router and a Cisco UCS C220 blade server. The blade has various Cisco VoIP components (UCCX, Call Manager etc.) installed in virtual instances.

We need to monitor each of the key services running inside these virtual servers.

Please advise if it is possible to achieve this and if so, on how we could achieve this?

PRTG version: 13.3.4

Many Thanks, Deon

Hello Deon,
we appreciate your contact.

Please note that the mentioned version 13.3.4 was released in July' 2013, it lacks many of the new features and enhancements.

We have recently introduced specific sensors for the UCS series from Cisco:

The sensors above mainly also monitor the hardware status of the UCS devices, but Cisco most likely provides specific MIB files to monitor those services more specifically, once you acquire the MIB file you can import-it and set-up custom sensors within PRTG.

Additionally, if the devices(switches, routers) involved in your VOIP infrastructure support the Cisco IP SLA there are also built-in sensors available which can monitor the quality of connectivity between those devices with the Cisco IP SLA Sensor.

Best Regards,
