We have a SOAP Sensor on a vcenter which has deployed several sensors for each guest.
Three queries We have increased the number of CPUs assigned to the guest, and it is not showing this change on the SOAP sensor for that guest. WE have removed the sensor, and added it back again, and still no change in reporting of CPU number for this guest.
Second query is the CPU usage on the same SOAP sensor. It is indicating at its peak of 118%, rather than 100%. It appears that the sensor is unable to determine the clock rate of this CPU. I'm not confident that this sensor is returning accurate information.
Third query is that the assigned memory from the host to the guest is the value returned on the guest sensor as the Memory Consumed. There is no accurate reading to memory utilisation.
Can you please clarify the above and suggest any improvements or config changes. thanks

Which sensor are you using? (Our VMWare Soap sensor does not have a channel to show the number of cores.)
CPU load values outside 0-100% can be reported by VMWare. Please find more information here. Our sensors shows the value provided by VMWare. This value factors in a recent increase or decrease in usage, allowing the value to go beyond 100% or below 0%.
The memory utilization shows much was recently in use (has been accessed by applications.) This again is a metric provided by VMWare.
