Hello,

We have a SNMP trap receiver sensor. We need it to work like this:

1. Trap received 2. Sensor is in alarm state 3. Alarm is validated 4. Alarm goes down, sensor goes to normal state

Is this possible with PRTG?

Worst case scenario, we can do with this way of functioning: 1. Trap received 2. Sensor is in alarm state for a fixed period (10 minutes for e.g. at least) 3. Alarm goes down, sensor goes to normal state Is this possible? We use a very low error limit on the trap receiver channel, but the alarm is still too quick.

Thank you very much Alina

The problem with this sensor is that each trap that is received triggers the sensor for the corresponding status. There is no "wait for trap x to be okay again" yet. However, this feature is requested quite often and will probably be implemented within future versions of PRTG.

Unfortunately, I can't give any ETA on this :( Of course you can code your own script or application sensor that does exactly this.
