Hello,

We are IT services provider, and we implemented PRTG to monitor all our customers, to replace our old monitoring tool. PRTG is very well working. I found on your web site system requirements and we are out of it.

We deployed around 90% of our customers, and we have 40 remote probes and 11740 sensors. We have to deploy all other customers, and we have also to monitor all our new clients. Means that we will always more remote probes and sensors.

Current PRTG core setup: - 1 Virtual Server - NO cluster - Windows Server 2016 - 8 vCPU - 16 GB RAM - 60 GB -> Disk system - 250 GB -> Disk Data

We would like to have your advise and expertise on how we should handle our PRTG core and how to make a really good implementation for a long term. If needed, we can do a conference call. Feel free to ask.

Thank you for your answer Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your inquiry, we appreciate your contact regarding this matter!

We don't recommend to use more than 10000 Sensors on one Core Server. Anyways it still can work with a lot of more Sensors if you are only using specific Sensor types and a higher scanning interval. For bigger installations, we also recommend splitting the installation on different Core Servers.

Please also take a look at this post for more information.

We can also talk about your specific configuration in a support ticket (not in the KB). I would like to take a look at your configuration there. Please open a new ticket with a Support Bundle including the system log files for analysis. This can be done via the "Contact Support" ribbon in the lower right corner of the web interface. Please also copy the URL of the KB article in the description, so we know where this is related to.

Kind regards,
